One of the best resources will be the web site of your state Geological
Survey office. Most of these are based at a state university, and
will have a wide range of free or low cost information available; a
good bit of it is aimed at K-12 education levels.
Most often you can find your own state's Geological Survey office by simply doing a web search using something like
" 'your state' Geological Survey" as the search term.
Usually you can simply replace 'your state' with the name of the state you are looking for. Other times the search works better if you do include 'State' in the search term as in "'your state' State Geological Survey "
