Cosmetic Defects - Good LensB&L sends us some loupes that we think should never have been packaged and shipped for a customer to buy. So we personally inspect each B&L lens before we sell it to you. After a change in B&L managment, we no longer can get a credit or exchange for loupes we reject as not good enough for our customers. Now we set them aside and sell on this page at a 25% discount from our regular price
Our opinion is that a cosmetic defect includes items such as: imperfect heat seal of lens into body; burrs or blemishes on metal case; malformed rivet; hairline crack of lens barrel; very minor pitting or scratching of lens surface; and very minor inclusions internal to lens.
Any loupe with a structural or functional defect, such as a visibly cracked open lens barrel, really bad rivet, or a lens problem that perceptably degrades image is a "clunker" that we won't sell on this page. Ask us if interested
The "Seconds" listed here are a great value if you need a loupe with excellent optics, but are not impressed by mere appearance or brand name
